Deepak Chopra is said that Washington is funding both sides of war. He is a well known writer/thinker and expressed these views in CNN’s Larry King Live show.

I also agree with Deepak Chopra. I have always written in post that NATO and Americans are funding Taliban. It takes money, ammunition and food to fight a war. Who are supplying these things to Taliban in the mountains?

In my opinion, this news has been published to please people in Washington. I know that this fragile democratic government cannot exert pressure on the army. In fact, they are dependent on them for their existence.

The Daily time reports that member of parliament from Punjab are opposing the imposition of tax on agriculture. They want to pass a resolution in the Punjab assembly to urge the federal government to abstain from levying tax.

These people are terming the federal government’s decision to impose tax on agriculture a Jewish conspiracy.

I shocked to hear that these people do not want to pay tax on their income. While ordinary Pakistan are paying taxes from their salaries. The government should go ahead with the tax reform. It should also initiate an inquiry to know how much these people are making money from their agricultural land.

It is good to hear that Obama’s advisors are urging him to make changes in US policy towards Pakistan. They are telling the president elect to take into consideration Pakistan real concerns and problems. Some of them are advising the new president to do something to solve the regional disputes.

In my opinion, their new advice will bring stability in the region.

Pakistan has suspended the supplies to NATO forces on the recommendations of the provincial government of NWFP. The provincial government apprised the federal government of volatile security situation in the tribal areas. Recently, militants took away 13 trailers which were carrying supplies and Hamvees.

It appears that Pakistani government failed to mend fences with American officials. The suspension of supplies will increase the problems of American and NATO forces in Afghanistan. Militants will take advantage of the situation and launch fresh attacks.

I hope America's first black president try to improve America’s standing in the world. I pray and hope that, he will approaches to all the complex issues faced by American people with new zeal.

I know that America’s economy is in recession. He inherits a budget deficit running into hundreds of billions and a national debt amounting to $11 trillion. I pray to God to give him strength to do his tasks.
